Course Overview

The BSB50215 - Diploma of Business targets the practical skills and capabilities required of contemporary managers across a wide variety of contexts: the development and implementation of strategic business plans; the management of teams; and effective engagement with marketing, finance and procedural functions. The vocational understandings it promotes are relevant to every industry sector. VET FEE-HELP options are available for this course.

The Diploma of Business is delivered by expert trainers in one of three delivery methods: online, classroom, or blended. 

The online training program is our most popular delivery method and provides access to a fully customised e-learning environment, MyUpskilled. MyUpskilled includes powerpoint resources, reading materials, discussion boards, forums, access to assessments, resources, videos (including access to the Lynda.com video training library) and blogs.  The course is conducted over a 12 month period with one unit of competency expected to be completed each month.

Classroom and Blended delivery formats are also available, but subject to minimum numbers.

All students will be provided with a relevant textbook: Cole, Kris. (2012) Management, Theory & Practice 4th Edition Pearson Australia.

Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites for this qualification.

This qualification is suited to participants who possess a sufficient grasp of the English language, adequate levels of intelligence, and appropriate attitude and motivation to enable them to undertake the demands of a Diploma level qualification.

  • English language proficiency (Year 12 English or equivalent); OR
  • Obtain a Certificate III or Certificate IV before enrolling in a Diploma level qualification, OR
  • Demonstrate appropriate academic standing or workplace experience for the chosen qualification

When applying for VET FEE-HELP, you will be required to either provide a copy of your Year 12 senior secondary certificate of education or complete a language literacy and numeracy task to ensure that the level of qualification you have selected is appropriate for your study needs.

Students will be required to have regular access to a computer and internet access to complete this course.

The diploma is appropriate for participants currently working in a senior business role, or who have attained an AQF4 level qualification in Business or an associated field. It will also have professional resonance for individuals engaged in the management, marketing, communications, accounting, compliance, and information technology functions of their respective organisations.
